Job Description:

As the Sr Compliance Training and Communications Specialist at Patterson, you will provide expertise across Patterson Companies and partner with Regulatory and Compliance leaders to identify, design, and manage initiatives that support current and emerging regulatory and compliance and regulatory training and communication needs.

The Sr Compliance and Communications Specialist anticipates, recommends, develops and implements effective training and communication based on compliance and regulatory risk, and designs and builds or otherwise sources appropriate content.

The Sr Compliance and Communications Specialist is responsible for conducting training needs assessments, designing and implementing impactful training initiatives using a variety of learning experiences - in-person training classes, live and recorded webinars, on-demand videos, and virtual classroom sessions.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing and delivering impactful training and communications programs primarily in the areas of regulatory compliance, including, but not limited to, privacy, employee health and safety, anti-trust, code of conduct, regulatory, anti-corruption, quality compliance, and other matters related to the compliance program

Content Design and Facilitation

  • Partners with regulatory and compliance leadership, business unit leadership, other internal stakeholders and external vendor partners to develop training and communications strategy for the organization, including prioritizing topics based on need, partnering with stakeholders to determine intended audience, and developing and deploying training and communications content globally.

  • Conducts needs assessment and gap analysis to ensure alignment to learning objectives and overall effectiveness of learning solutions

  • Designs curriculum, content, courses, guides, job aids, and other materials/resources used to support learning and development

  • Facilitates and helps deliver training programs via classroom, webinar, or other virtual environments in an engaging manner that is inclusive of various adult learning styles

  • Stays informed as to changes in state and federal laws and regulations that apply to Patterson operations and assists with updating training materials and content to maintain relevance and usefulness

  • Collaborates with internal/external subject matter experts in design and delivery of training programs, including scheduling/facilitating trainers and overseeing train-the-trainer programs

  • Ensures that all employees receive annual corporate compliance and regulatory training appropriate to their job function, which includes coordinating with appropriate stakeholders to develop specialized compliance training modules, as necessary

  • Maintains up to date files and records to document all corporate compliance and regulatory training. Training and Communications Coordinator will “own” monitoring completion rates and sending communications to individuals who have not completed the training by the assigned date to drive to 100% completion rates. Coordinator will “own” aggregating, assessing and using proficiency data from training courses to develop leading indicator for compliance. Coordinator will “own” assessing read-rates of compliance communications to continuously improve read-rates and engagement with content, including developing and implementing strategies to improve readership.

  • Measures the success of training-based and communication initiatives, programs, and materials; helps drive improvements and adjustments to increase learning engagement and retention

  • Effectively incorporates new methods of learning, instructional techniques, and instructional technologies to develop new, exciting and compelling learning solutions

  • Responsible for overseeing all program logistics including participant enrollment, evaluation, reporting and troubleshooting and resolving learners’ technical issues with online learning content.

  • Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee understanding

  • Establish training KPIs for the organization and business units, as applicable

  • Seeks opportunities to link programs and processes with other key HR, Talent Management and organizational processes

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Assists with development and rollout of compliance and regulatory communications and updates to employees in partnership with Corporate Communications.

  • Coordinate with other functions to identify training priorities; update and maintain training and communication plan accordingly

  • As requested, prepare education and training aids and materials (e.g., FAQs)

  • Conduct organization-wide training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed

  • Strong writing, facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to adapt appropriately to different audiences.

  • Work across teams to ensure that training content is effectively deployed and represented on Patterson’s communication and learning portals.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships throughout the organization.

  • Develop and execute a plan to brand, market and increase employee awareness and engagement in and of compliance and regulatory training programs.

Project Management:

  • Creates and maintains project plans to ensure timely delivery of training materials/programs

  • Strong time management skills; must be able to multi-task and adapt to multiple priorities.

  • Keen attention to detail

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Adult Education, Instructional Design, Educational Psychology or related area

  • 5+ years of experience in the areas of training and development, facilitation, deployment and evaluation

  • 2+ years of experience with compliance or regulatory training.

  • Knowledge of learning and adult education methodologies and tools

  • Experience in working with subject matter experts to produce training materials

  • Previous experience deploying content via a learning management system (LMS)

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, team-oriented approach and ability to establish rapport quickly and collaborate effectively with all employee levels

  • Excellent communication skills: written, presentation and speaking

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a regulated industry or company

  • Previous experience with eLearning authoring tools (i.e., Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia or other)

  • Previous experience with visual/audio design programs (Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, PremierPro, Photoshop; Vyond (GoAnimate) or other)

The potential compensation range for this role is below. The final offer amount could exceed this range, based on various factors such as candidate location (geographical labor market), experience, and skills.

$66,800.00 - $84,300.00
